In March 2014, EUSA entered into a mutually beneficial partnership with EDP (Eastern Development Program) to provide a pathway to success for our players and coaches.
As background, the EDP was started by a core group of "elite" clubs in Region 1. Their mission is to provide a development-friendly arena of competition where coaches operate in a collegial and mutually supportive environment to develop players who aspire to the highest levels of play - College, Pro and International. etc.
The EDP's mission is to serve respected clubs whose teams, to develop their players, need a higher level of competition than is available to them locally. The program is administered by MSSL - a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of youth soccer.
EDP and MSSL work under the NPL (National Premier Leagues). The NPL has been created to provide a unified national developmental platform with the highest level of competition in given geographic areas, and to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape based upon US Club Soccer's fundamental principles.
Our belief at EUSA is that a comprehensive Player Progression System begins with shaping the abilities and attitudes of younger players and then providing them with a progressive pathway of opportunities that inspire, educate and empower them to grow into their potential as college, professional or international players.
Those EUSA teams that progress to the EDP / MAPS level have worked hard and embody the ideals of EUSA.
